Meet Kerstin

Supporting you in your pursuit of holistic and realistic self-care.

I'm so glad you stopped by!

I’m Kerstin van Bolderen, a Nashville-based certified health coach and nutrition consultant, imperfectly parenting three young kiddos, and deeply passionate about helping women feel nourished and supported in their motherhood journey.

I want to prove to you that being a mom doesn’t come at the cost of your wellness goals, or living your most authentic and fulfilling life. My vision of health is to have a body, mind and spirit that are energized, aligned and vibrant - to explore that sweet spot that falls right in the middle of consistent, but not restrictive - so we can create a life where we are nourished and present to our ever-evolving needs as mothers.

Nourished Motherhood (verb) :
Prioritizing the physical, mental and emotional support you need to feel energized and vibrant throughout all stages of your motherhood journey.

What does it mean to be nourished in motherhood?

Nourished Motherhood is about embracing exactly where you are, right now. Utilizing food, movement, mindset, self-care and tiny shifts in your daily life to create a strong foundation of health that will effortlessly nourish you today, tomorrow, and throughout all stages of your motherhood journey.

Our bodies are always changing: food, daily routines, and habits that worked before we became moms may not work as well as they used to. And the difference between growing and thriving along the way, and staying stuck in the chaos? It's being willing to get quiet, try new things, and learn the art of tuning in to yourself - so that no matter what you and your body need, you will have the tools to listen and guide it there. Us moms were never meant to do this alone.

My mission is to help Mothers claim their strength, find balance and thrive. I firmly believe everything you need to feel confident, strong, and vibrant in your body, mind and spirit already lives within you.

A final note from me to you....

My personal experience with motherhood

Becoming a mother is a huge, complicated life transition that can rock every fiber of your being.
It’s beautiful, raw, vulnerable, joyful and overwhelming all at the same time. It fundamentally changed who I am, and reframed my whole approach to wellness.

The one thing that allows me to prioritize my health day after day is this: I’m no longer an all-or-nothing kind of person. I have a regular morning routine, but it’s sporadic and interrupted while also getting my kids ready for the day. I find health in the in-between—not being overly obsessed or strict, but also not being passive or willing to settle. There isn’t one path to health, and in an age of information overloads, quick-fixes and wellness fads, “health” can seem pretty complicated these days...
But amongst all of the noise, I’ve always found it easier to boil wellness down to the basics: nutrition, self-care, physical movement, stress management and mindset. Prioritizing these foundations of health in a way that is unique to my needs, and my family’s lifestyle, has allowed me to find that sweet spot of wellness that has me feeling aligned and vibrant in my role as a mom, and supported as I move forward in this season of my life.

I’ve learned that it’s not about “going back” to a version of myself before motherhood. There’s no going back, only forward. And the sooner I started to honor and embrace this version of myself, the easier it became to enjoy and navigate this wild and beautiful season of  life.

A few things you may not know about me...

Fun Facts about Kerstin

I played ice hockey in college. I spent my childhood running from one rink to the next, and played all four years at Queen’s University (and even got to win a championship!). This is still one of the most impactful experiences of my life.

I met my husband when I was 17 years old. He tutored me in accounting, and I introduced him to eating whole foods. Fast forward 16 years - he’s an accountant and I’m a health coach, raising three wildlings together!

I’m Canadian and American. And my kids get to have dual-citizenship too!

I love red wine. Love. I hustled as a bartender and server in college and developed a real appreciation for a big, bold glass of vino! A wine course is definitely on my bucket list.

I suffered from prenatal depression. Mental health is important to me.

This is what I was meant to do. About a decade ago I got a degree in health studies, and six years later I got certified as a health coach (a week before having my firstborn!). My training, coupled with my motherhood experience, has completely transformed my career and my life. I feel so called to support women on their motherhood journey, because I live and breathe it. Every. Dang. Day .

I struggle with perfectionism. Well, I used to, and it still creeps in. But becoming a mom and focusing on the everyday little wins has helped completely shift my mindset, and embrace the “gray” area.

My friends and family are #1. I invest a lot of time in my relationships. They are a core part of who I am.

One of my biggest fears is outliving everyone I love (sorry, that got deep real quick).

I’m on this journey, too. Most days it looks like a bomb went off in my home. I'm an imperfect parent with young kids constantly pushing boundaries, and the 5-second-rule is more of a 5-minute-rule in our house. We’re all just doing our best!
